    1. Golden Hookah Award: Michelle Obama’s $400-Million Plan to Fight ‘Food Deserts’, By Craig Bannister, CNSNEWS.com, 11/04/10

Michelle Obama obviously does not read the newspapers. The Federal government is running a deficit of close to $1.5 TRILLION. Yet she wants the Feds to spend $400 million to tell supermarkets to sell "healthy" foods. Also, guess she has not been to a grocery store--ever. She does not know that stores sell tofu, fruits, vegtables, low calorie stuff, etc. She also does not know that private business ONLY start in areas where they can make a profit. She wants to open subsidized grocery stores.

"The latest “Golden Hookah” award for outrageous government spending, presented by CNSNews.com, goes to First Lady Michelle Obama for calling on Congress to create a $400-million-a-year program to encourage the establishment of supermarkets in places she calls “food deserts.” “To do that,” the first lady has said, “we’re creating a Healthy Food Financing Initiative that’s going to invest $400 million a year -- and leverage hundreds of millions more from the private sector -- to bring grocery stores to underserved areas and help places like convenience stores carry healthier options.”
    2. Random Thoughts on Democrats, Capitol Commentary, 11/07/10
San Fran Nan does not get it. Obama when he calls Republicans "enemies" that need to "sit in the back" does not get it. The election was about taxes and jobs--Pelosi wants to "fight" for her radical San Fran policies and Barack still does not want to hold serious discussions with Republicans. The good news is that if they keep this up, the 2010 elections will look good to the Democrats in 2012...and that is good for America.
"If the Democratic Party is really all about personal freedom than why is it that wherever they are in power the people who live under their rule are enslaved by taxes, regulations, and quotas?
The Democrats say they are for the underdog… the overlooked, the weak. So why are black or Latino conservatives considered to be traitors?
When all the laws and regulations Democrats pass don’t work why do they think they need to pass more laws and more regulations?"
    3. True unemployment still at 17%, Washington Examiner, 11/06/10
America is in a Depression, yet Washington continues to lie about the real unemployment rate in this country. The real rate is 17%--which is why our deficit is so high--fewer people making money and paying taxes.
"The government reports that the unemployment rate remained stuck at 9.6 percent in October.
The government's broader measure of unemployment, sometimes referred to "true unemployment," is still at 17 percent. There was drop of 318,000 in the number of people employed part time but who would prefer full-time work. The drop resulted in a slight decrease in true unemployment from 17.1 to 17.0 percent.
The higher, more inclusive, unemployment number is buried in the government's monthly report as "U6 Total unemployed, plus all persons marginally attached to the labor force, plus total employed part time for economic reasons, as a percent of the civilian labor force plus all persons marginally attached to the labor force" in "Table A-15. Alternative measures of labor underutilization." Unlike the "official" unemployment rate, the U6 number includes both marginal and part-time workers as the "true" or "real" unemployment level."
    4. SEIU affiliate accused of illegally punishing employees who opposed union, Washington Examiner, 11/08/10
The SEIU is opnely corrupt. In Simi Valley the SEIU endorsed Steve Sojka (who claims to be a conservative Republican) for Mayor. he signed an agreement with them that he supports their goals and values. he was so embarrassed he did not note the endorsement--yet, he still lost to a real Republican.
Find the SEIU and you find allegations of corruption in the California 11th Congressional District, the Republican, Harmer, is just a few hundred votes behind--with lots of votes to be counted. Yet controversy ensues because the SEIU, is counting the ballots, with a stick in the eye of honest elections--they are wearing their purple SEIU T-Shirts.
"A union affiliated with the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) -- a group that credits itself with helping elect President Barack Obama -- used contract negotiations to punish two employees who supported a rival union, according to a recent complaint issued by the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB)."
    5. (Texas) Lawmakers Discussing Dropping Health Care Program, by Emily Ramshaw, Texas Tribune, 11/06/10
The Federal Medicaid system is bankrupting the State of Texas. Other States are also looking at the cost of Medicad as a significant cause of the deficit. At some point, we will return to the 10th Amendment and get the Feds out of health care and education. That, just for a start.
    Texas would save $60 billion!!!
"“With Obamacare mandates coming down, we have a situation where we cannot reduce benefits or change eligibility” to cut costs, said State Rep. Warren Chisum, R-Pampa, the veteran conservative lawmaker who recently entered the race for speaker of the Texas House. “This system is bankrupting our state,” he said. “We need to get out of it. And with the budget shortfall we’re anticipating, we may have to act this year.”
The Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank, estimates Texas could save $60 billion between 2013 and 2019 by opting out of Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program, dropping coverage for acute care but continuing to fund long-term care services. The Texas Health and Human Services Commission, which has 3.6 million children, people with disabilities and impoverished Texans enrolled in Medicaid and CHIP, will release its own study on the effect of ending the state’s participation in the federal match program at some point between now and January."
    6. Restrained No More, a web site,
We all need some fun. A reader sent me her web site, with great parodies of songs and make fun of the silliness of Obama.
"Restrained No More created by Hollywood actress and political activist - Sharise Parviz - who is also known as the "Conservative Bombshell"

Go here to see one example--to the tune "Hey Big Spender".
