  • Central Valley leading economic indicator higher ? But

Let the good times roll. Not.

"An economy that is growing, but at a subdued pace’

Fresno, Madera, Kings and Tulare counties in the Central Valley will likely experience positive economic growth in the next three to six months, according to the San Joaquin Valley Business Conditions Survey, commissioned by the Craig School of Business at Fresno State from Ernie Goss of the Goss Institute for Economic Research in Denver.

The index, a leading economic indicator for the area, is identical to that produced by the national Institute for Supply Management.

The index climbed to 54.1 from September’s 53.0. An index greater than 50 indicates an expansionary economy over the course of the next three to six months.

“Our results are similar to the national survey outcomes which point to an economy that is growing, but at a subdued pace,” says Mr. Goss."

Wonder if these folks noted that the water supply is going to be cut some more? Or that taxes or going up? or that AB 32 is killing jobs.

Life is not only about statistics, it is about policy. And the Arnold policy is about keeping California in a Depression for as long as the eye can see.

Nice numbers, but unemployment will continue to grow.
