  • San Diego Labor Unions Demand High Cost of Projects

Thanks to San Diego City Council member Carl DeMaio, San Diego has become the battleground of honesty in government and ending the union monopoly on the economy.

"Tensions continue to swirl around three loaded words that have brought San Diego cities to a tipping point -- public labor agreements.
At the end of the recent June primary election, San Diego residents saw measures pass in Chula Vista and Oceanside that would preclude both cities from requiring public labor agreements (known commonly as PLAs) outright. Now, as attention turns to the November general election, protecting PLAs is the goal for some.

PLAs require contractors to hire union workers on public works projects and pay union wages, and have become increasingly prevalent throughout Southern California."

Unions want to be the monopoly source of workers--and we know that monopoly policies harm workers causing higher prices, shoddy and corrupt work.

Thank you DeMaio for taking on our battle.
