  • Dems damn dams

When Jerry Brown was governor, a generation ago, he opposed the building of dams. Now, after 30 years, we see the results of that policy--a water shortage.

"Dutton said Californias definition of renewable energy resources arbitrarily excludes hydroelectric generation greater than 30 MW. SB1247 would expand the definition of renewable resources to include all hydroelectric generation of any size.

Dutton said that California is going to be faced with a 60 percent increase in electricity rates because of the states efforts to fight global warming under AB32.

However, the committee analysis for SB1247 noted that large hydroelectricity power was excluded from RPS eligibility because of other adverse environmental impacts associated with conventional hydroelectric power generation and typical on-stream pumped hydroelectric storage facilities.

Looks like the current crop of Democrat legislators are the ideological children of Jerry Brown, the man who caused bad roads, lack of energy, lack of water and the California Nanny State.

California is in a tough place. We can not afford four more years of Jerry Brown.
