  • Proposed cuts won't halt prison hospital projects

How lacking of common sense can Sacramento be?

The Governor and the legislature want to “cut" $811muillion from prison health care.

Even the janitor on the fifth floor of the Capitol knows a court will over turn this “cut"

The State is under court orders to ADD up to $8 billion.

Even if the courts allow the cuts, it will be meaningless--we still need to spend about $8 billion.

Why do we have this problem? " The governor's target figure would bring California's spending on inmate health care each year in line with other states. California spends about $11,600 per inmate, while prisoner health care in New York is $5,757, and in Texas it is $2,920."

We need to be more like Texas than California. What do you think?
