  • LA Times Column: Keep Government Control of Banks

This says it all, "By letting banks exit the $700-billion program that saved them, the government may be giving up what could have been an effective tool of leverage over this misbehaving industry."

The LA Times is once again promoting fascism, government control of the banks (socialism is government OWNERSHIP of the banks)

Is there any business the Times believes should be free of government? Maybe newspapers. But, like the buggy whip, these too are obsolete and no longer useful in a modern world. But, newspapers, with stories and columns like this are committing suicide, dying before they have to pass on.

If you like the Post Office, the DMV, government schools, Medicare, the VA, the housing crisis caused by Congress through Fannie and Freddie, then why not have government banks as well?

This is why subscriptions and revenues are down. If we wanted to read an Obama/ACORN press release, why pay for it?

How soon after January 1 will the LA Times announce the next 250 "layoffs"? Print more articles like this and the Times will be in the same class as the Los Angeles Herald-Examiner.
