  • 6700 California Government Jobs Lost in June

In total, California lost over 66,000 jobs in June. Of that total, 10%, 67000, were government jobs. The Guv has now threatened to fire 7,000 people--but all those people are still on the job.

This is a minor start to role back the influence and fiscal disaster of government taking over our lives.

Get real--6700--statewide--has anybody even noticed? Yes, those fired noticed, and their families. But the public they were to serve did not even know. It took an article in a newspaper for anybody to find out that government workers were fired.

In the past five years the State of California added 50,000 employees--from 300,000 to 350,000. There is lots of room to cut, before the public even notices. Plus if we push people to use the Internet to do government business we save money and "save the planet"--oh, and the stress of dealing with government agents goes down. A win all around.

Oh, note two LAUSD teachers whining about "losing their jobs". Yup, they got a pink slip--but the union and LAUSD have worked out a deal, as we all knew they would, and NO one is being fired. This was just a bad dance, not reality. It should be noted that LAUSD has MORE teachers today then they had eight years ago--but 115,000 FEWER students. LAUSD is the poster child for corruption, incompetence and union control.

Good start lets hope government does better in July. Government should not be a growth industry.
