  • CA Soda tax would finance anti-obesity programs

I will say it again, Democrats love taxes. With Cap and Trade they are actually trying to tax the air we breathe.

Now the Ninnies want to tax a can of soda 12 cents to fight obesity--another slush fund like the Reiner created tobacco tax--to be used for political plans.

"A California lawmaker has introduced legislation that would slap a penny-per-ounce tax on every soda and sugar-sweetened beverage sold in the state.

The tax could raise $1.7 billion annually, which would be used to finance childhood obesity prevention programs."

With the State $40 billion, this year alone, in deficit, when you count everything, the Democrats want to create a slush fund of $1.7 billion to spend on the Nanny state, while teachers are being fired and cops and firefighters not hired.

Taxes yes, government education and public safety NO, the new slogan of Democrats everywhere
