Traffic could back up even more during commute time Tuesday when one lane of J Street is closed all day near the Capital City Freeway.
Sacramento officials warn drivers to avoid J Street during the commute between 27th and 28th Street when a lane is closed for a Cinco de Mayo block party. The south lane of J street in that area will be closed from 9 a.m. to 2 a.m.
In addition, 28th Street between J Street and the alley to the south will be closed. The Sacramento Police Department will provide traffic control.
