  • Border Security Once Again Stalled By Bureaucrats

Funding stalls putting Guard soldiers on border

The Department of Homeland Security, which expects to get roughly $44 billion in its overall 2010 budget compared to the Pentagon's $636 billion - is also reluctant to bear the costs of the proposed program.

Military officials have also balked at having a highly visible uniformed presence at border crossings.

One administration official said an initial Pentagon draft was nixed by Defense Secretary Robert Gates because it suggested that Guard troops could be used to help screen commercial vehicles at the border.

Defense leaders have been insistent that the U.S. avoid any appearance of militarizing the border, and they are opposed to using the soldiers at border entry points to openly inspect vehicles.

That bunch of retartds in DC could not think a sensible thought if their lives depended on it. I thought Gates was sensible but no he is not. To inspect those trucks is one of the main reasons they should be there. I guess he does not want to intrupt the flow of drugs and Illegal Invaders who are being brought in. The guards should be fully armed. If you want security you have to at least make it appear so that you do.

Yes, they don't want there to be a border, and sending an armed force there would establish that. Besides, they need those troops to guard the borders in Iraq and Afghanistan. That should show everyone that they have abandoned America as a sovereign country, and prioritized the advancement of the domination in east asia

We say that people in Washington DC are retards, ((((who put them there ????????))))
Our government has used many things against the vast majority of US citizens, but if people would stop and look and read and study the history of the United States of America, instead of going to the movies and believing made up stories about how nice it was in the old South, or how the poor man met the rich woman and they all lived happily ever after.
There have been and always will be three social classes in this country
the 1% - super super rich.
the 39% - rich and well off.
then you have the 60% that used to do the backbone work of this country.

((((There's less than 9000 families that control 98% of the wealth of this country,)))) that's the super super rich.

This is where over half of our Politicians come from.
If we had the time or a person had the time to look at all the bills passed by Congress, you would find over 99.99% benefit just this class of people Alone.

TILL WE THE PEOPLE remove the power from these families; there is no protest, no electing of new politicians that will help this country, or the
other 99% of citizens of this country.

The really sad thing is that as a country we are becoming more and more illiterate. As a society we spend more on being entertained than on educating ourselves. How many people do you know who have spent more on books than on electronic entertainment devices? I bet not too many.
