  • UC System to Promote Online Learning

The corrupt and incompetent UC system may try to save money and do well, by mistake.

This is 2010 and the Internet has more power and information, 24/7 than any library or classroom.

"The state Legislative Analyst's Office has come out in support of the University of California offering online courses and degrees, saying that doing so would make the university more accessible.

UC is currently toying with the idea of a "cyber university" pilot program of 25 to 40 credited courses, spearheaded by Christopher Edley Jr., the dean of the UC Berkeley law school.

The LAO says the program will accommodate the educational goals of non-traditional students who cannot make the trek to campus, as well as allow campuses to provide more instruction without needing additional classrooms and create a space for further collaboration among campuses."

What we need to the shamster himself, Al Gore to promote this as a way to save the planet. Give him a share of the profits and he will sell out like a politician.

Online learning may be the only way to save the government education system in California. We can no longer afford it. And, the very rich, and the very poor who get scholarships are the winners of the current system. The middle class loses--by being taxed for a system they can not afford.

Inconvenience electrons instead of bankrupting families.
