  • Munger: $ for Honest Politics

Not many people can afford $10 million just to provide YOU with an honest political system.

Charles Munger Jr. and his wife, Charlotte Lowell have spent, so far, $10 million on a ballot measure that would get the hack politicians out of the room when legislative districts are reapportioned.

"Munger has contributed nearly $11 million from his fortune to support Proposition 20, which would require congressional districts to be drawn by a 14-member panel instead of by the state Legislature. He is also funding an effort to defeat Proposition 27, which would eliminate a citizens' redistricting panel now in place to draw legislative districts.

A spokeswoman for Munger's committee said he his is passionate about giving voters the power to hold politicians accountable by eliminated their right of lawmakers to carved out districts that virtually assure re-election for themselves or their party."

I know Charles Munger and served with him on an informal committee for the California Republican party. He is bright, decent and sincere. Munger truly wants to make the political world fair for all.

When John F. Kennedy first ran for Congress in 1946, he listed his occupation as "politician". when asked why, he said being in politics should be an honest profession.

Charles Munger is in that traditional--he truly believes that ideas should be openly and fairly debated--no thumbs on the scales by the special interests.

Glad to have Charles Munger in the GOP--too bad the Democrats do not have men like him.
