  • California: No Budget: Bankrupt: Gives $$ for Parks

Modesto just got $2.2 million for new parks.

This at a time when jobs are being lost, homes foreclosed, we lack a budget--we have massive debt and deficits.

    Any brains in Sacramento?

We need to pay debt and deficit, we need to cut taxes to create jobs, yet money is going for parks?

"The California Natural Resources Agency has allocated $2.2 million out of Proposition 84 money to Modesto, on behalf of the Tuolumne River Regional Park Joint Powers Authority. Its part of divvying up $31 million in bond funds among numerous river parkway projects in the Central Valley and the state.

In Modesto, the money will be used to leverage previous grants to extend fully accessible trails, install a fishing deck and restore the natural habitat at the parks Gateway Parcel."

Fishing decks are a Sacramento priority--not jobs--these are sick people.
