  • Cogdill: Prescription for health care reform is common sense

The California budget is approximately $90 billion this year. The Democrats have a health care plan that will cost over $200 billion per year. You can imagine what happens to jobs, taxes and the California economy if the Democrats have their way. The current Great Depression would look minor compared to the immediate collapse of the economy that would occur.

Senator Cogdill does more than point out the problems of the Democrat plan, he shows the positive GOP plan.

"This proposal tackled the three largest problems with our health care system: quality, access and affordability. Key proposals would expand access and improve affordability through the expansion of community-based clinics. Another measure would provide relief to families by allowing them to purchase insurance with pre-tax savings plans, similar to programs already in place for child care. Other bills would create incentives for doctors to accept Medi-Cal and encourage medical professionals to serve in underserved areas, such as rural parts of our state."

The Democrats understand their plan would bankrupt California and Californians. The GOP provides quality care for all Californians. Which would you prefer?

Also, why hasn't the media told the public about the GOP plan--could it be bias? Cogdill and his GOP colleagues should be thanked for providing fiscally responsible health care plans.
