First, the reporter for the Contra Costa Times needs to rewrite this article. He is "writing" about immigrants--that is a lie. He is writing about illegal aliens.
Is he afraid that if he wrote the truth he would be fired or that the illegal aliens would no longer buy the Contra Costa Times? My guess is that this story cost the Times at least 100 subscribers who are disgusted that their local newspaper can not write the truth. And, that the paper prefers to whine about economic conditions harming illegal aliens.
"Among the cities with the fastest-growing concentration of immigrants this decade are Little Rock, Nashville, Las Vegas and Orlando. But that does not mean California is losing its immigrants. The state still has far more than any other.
Immigrants are increasingly skipping urban enclaves for outlying suburbs, a trend that began in California decades ago as the source of jobs shifted, said Sarah Bohn, a researcher at the Public Policy Institute of California, which released a study today on new patterns of immigrant settlement."
What in the world he is writing about--these are NOT immigrants, they are criminals here illegally.
