  • New kitchen Toy

Got a new addition to our kitchen,

One kitchen-aid mixer/grinder. Tremendous machine. These are a minature version of the Commercial Hobart bakery/restaurant mixers, which are durable as hell. I made dog food with it last night, and it cut down my work and time by half. Dog food is made by cooking a whole chicken in a pot with some water, until it just about falls apart. Then, cook up about 4 or 5 cups of rice. Separate the meat from the bone and then run the meat through the grinder attachment for the mixer. Next, toss the ground meat and the rice in the mixing bowl using the dough hook as the attachment. Mix it for about 5 minutes on low, then toss in a can of mixed vegetable and mix 1 minute on high. Now you've got dog food that costs less then dry packaged, and is a whole lot better

But how much does the mixer cost? Most are very expensive.

Yes ma'am, I'm sure it was, but this was a gift.

Otherwise, I'd still be chopping the chicken meat with a dull knife

Nice mixer. Did you get the red color?

No, but I'm old school, and appreciate stuff that looks like real machinery
