  • Santa Barbara Firefighters to get $2 million office building

Unions take money from workers in government, for the "right" to work for government. Must be a good deal for the unions!

"The Santa Barbara City Council on Tuesday gave the green light to the $2 million office building for the Santa Barbara City Fire Department.

The project will renovate the annex building at 927 Chapala Street, creating 4,200 square feet of office space to accommodate 15 staff and a 4,500 square foot warehouse for department equipment".

Wonder if the firefighters were allowed to vote on this?

Oh, my understanding is that unions supported four of the five council members (the one not getting the money was appointed to the seat a few weeks--not enough time to take union money).

Isn't it nice when those making the decision work for you?

Can you spell conflict of interest? Does anybody care?
