  • Whatever became of Drums?

During my time at SOS, there were two members outside Southern California whom I have never met, who had impressed me a great deal with their activism and the comments they posted on the Save Our State message board. The owner of this site is one and Drumsme was the other?

What became of the guy? I know he was located in Illinois.

Drums had health issues come up, and one of them was blood pressure I believe, so you can imagine how the immigration issue affected that. My guess is he scaled back on doctors orders.
Also, he was against the bannings, and specifically brought that up in your case, so that was another factor. Although I participated in your ejection, the final order actually came from Chelene, howver she was incommunicado at the time, and being her proxy during that period he may be holding a grudge against me.
I always thought highly of him too DA

Drums is still around, he just doesn't post much anymore. But he does pop into SOS and is still keeping a watchful eye.

Thanks for the info. I'm sorry to learn he's had some medical issues. I always enjoyed reading what he posted and he struck me as both a likable guy and someone with some intellectual bona fides.

Given what you have told me I hope that:

        A. any health related problems he may have are soon to be a thing of the past, and

        B. that you two get an opportunity to smooth things out.

I always thought highly of Drums. I am sorry to hear of his health problems. Mrs. P suffers from hypertension. Not a fun thing.

I've had pretty good luck with blood pressure thus far,

I had to take my drivers physical to renew my license just a few day ago, and I had some real trouble passing it on other issues, but still cleared the BP test ok. I must not have seen any illegal vendors, Day laborers, or pictures of Chelene that day

I know of 'drumsforme'. He was an early SOS and was part of the good staff there. When he was black-balled or marginalized along with some other common sense folks, I could see that that org was a popularity cult for just a few, then only one. That just disgusts me to know how hard it is to motivate folks to do things to better their neighborhoods and have some ignorant meglomaniac destroy that inniative of others.
I know of many good folks that got banned by Chelene or her 'others' and that put our efforts in the trash heap. We are still suffering from that today. Some folks left permanently.
That is why I think this matter is a cancer on our movement and needs to be cut-out and not easily dismissed (amnesty anyone?). Anyone who was party to those deeds should make a clear admission of doing so and tell all who will listen the whole hidden facts about the unfair injustice that they saw occur on their 'watch'. Then it's not hidden or censored. And the vicitms can get fairness and make a informed decision on these matters.
